Sync with Apple Reminders

Keep Plannedo tasks in a "Plannedo" list in Apple Reminders, edit them on either side, and turn tasks you dictate to Siri into Plannedo tasks.

The iPhone and Mac apps can keep your tasks in sync with Apple Reminders. Your Plannedo tasks then show up in Reminders on your Apple devices, and anything you add to that list in Reminders comes back into Plannedo.

  1. In the iPhone or Mac app, open Settings → Apple Reminders.
  2. Turn on Sync with Reminders.
  3. Allow access when your device asks.

Plannedo creates a list called Plannedo in Reminders (or uses the one already there) and starts syncing. The setting is per device: turn it on on each iPhone or Mac you want to sync. The list itself travels through iCloud like any Reminders list.

Sync goes both ways. For each task Plannedo keeps the title, notes, date, time, priority and whether it’s done.

  • All your open tasks sync — dated, undated, in lists or in the Inbox — plus tasks completed in the last seven days.
  • Repeating tasks and subtasks don’t sync.
  • A reminder you add to the Plannedo list becomes a Plannedo task. One without a date goes to the Inbox.
  • Deleting a reminder from the list deletes the task in Plannedo, and the other way round.
  • If the same thing was changed on both sides, the more recent change wins.

Turn on Import Siri Reminders and pick the Reminders list Siri saves to (it’s marked Siri default · Recommended). Now “Hey Siri, remind me to call the dentist tomorrow” ends up in Plannedo: open reminders from that list move into the Plannedo list and become tasks.

Sync runs while the Plannedo app is open: when it starts, when you come back to it, when something changes on either side, and every few minutes. Sync now → Sync runs it straight away. The line under the switch shows when it last synced.

There’s no background sync: changes made in Reminders while Plannedo is closed arrive the next time you open it.

Turn off Sync with Reminders. Syncing stops; the Plannedo list and its reminders stay in Reminders. If you turn sync on again later, Plannedo’s version of each task wins on the first sync.

If Plannedo says Reminders access is off, allow it in your device’s privacy settings for Reminders, then come back to the app.
