Lists and tags

Group tasks into lists with a colour and an icon, nest one level of sub-lists, and use #tags across lists.

Lists hold tasks that belong together — a project, an area of life, a shopping run. Tags cut across lists.

  1. Click + next to Lists in the sidebar (it appears when you hover), or New list on the Lists screen.
  2. Give it a name.
  3. Optionally choose a Color, an Icon (an emoji) and a Parent list.
  4. Click OK.

A list can sit inside another list, one level deep. A list that already has sub-lists can’t itself be nested.

Lists in the sidebar opens an overview of all your lists; a list’s own name opens just that list. Each list shows how far along it is (Empty, 2 of 5 done, All 5 done) and has an Add task to … field: type and press Enter to add a task at the top. Completed tasks stay in the list, struck through.

To move a task to another list, open it, click + (Show more fields) and change List. From the Inbox, use … → List.

Click Edit list (the pencil) to rename it or change its colour, icon or parent, then OK.

To delete it, choose Edit list → … → Delete list and confirm.

Add a tag by typing #word in a task’s title or note. Tags appear under Tags in the sidebar; click one to see all its tasks on the Tasks screen, or filter by tag there. More in Add and edit tasks.

The Free plan includes 3 lists, counting sub-lists. Pro has no list limit. Tags are unlimited on every plan.
