Widgets

Put today's tasks and habits on your iPhone Home Screen or Mac desktop, tick them off without opening the app, and add a task in one tap.

Plannedo widgets show what’s left today and let you tick things off right from the Home Screen or the Mac desktop. They’re free on every plan.

Widget Size Shows
Today Medium Your day at a glance: what’s next, what’s left.
Habits Medium Today’s habits and progress.
Today & Habits Large Tasks and habits together in one daily overview.
Quick Add Small A button that opens Plannedo ready to add a task to Today

Today, Habits and Today & Habits show the date, how much of the day is done (3 / 7 and a bar) and the items still open. Today and Today & Habits also show how many tasks are overdue.

iPhone: touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, search for Plannedo and pick a widget.

Mac (macOS 14 or later): right-click the desktop, choose Edit Widgets, search for Plannedo and drag a widget onto the desktop.

Then open the Plannedo app once while you’re signed in. That’s what connects the widgets to your account. Until then they say Open the app once to set up this widget.

  • Tick off a task or habit by tapping its checkbox. It’s saved straight away, without opening the app. Widgets can only tick off today’s items; to untick something, use the app.
  • Open a task by tapping its title.
  • Add a task with the + at the top of Today and Today & Habits, or with Quick Add: Plannedo opens on Today with a new task ready to type.

Ticking a task or habit that belongs to a goal marks the goal as moved, just like in the app.

Widgets update right after you change something in the app, and on their own about every half hour. After midnight a widget that hasn’t caught up yet says New day — open Plannedo and it fills in.

Widgets follow your device’s light or dark mode, not your Plannedo theme.

Signing out, changing your password or deleting your account disconnects the widgets on that account. Sign in and open the app again to bring them back.
