Plan your days
Repeating tasks
Make a task repeat every day, week or month, tick off a single day, and change or stop the series.
A repeating task shows up on every day it’s due, and you tick it off one day at a time.
Make a task repeat
Section titled “Make a task repeat”- Open the task and give it a date — the first day it’s due.
- Click + (Show more fields) and set Repeat to Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
- Save.
| Repeat | Shows up |
|---|---|
| Daily | Every day from the start date |
| Weekly | Every week, on the weekday of the start date |
| Monthly | Every month, on the day of the month of the start date. In shorter months it falls on the last day: a task that starts on the 31st shows up on April 30. |
Tick off one day
Section titled “Tick off one day”Each day of a repeating task is ticked separately: ticking today’s run leaves tomorrow’s open. Tick repeating tasks from their row on Today, Week or Month — those views know which day you mean.
A missed day of a repeating task doesn’t pile up under Overdue on Today. The next one is simply there on its day.
Change or stop a series
Section titled “Change or stop a series”There is one set of details for the whole series. When you open a repeating task and change it, the change applies to every day — there’s no “this day only”. The date in the editor is the start of the series, so to move a weekly task to another weekday, change its date.
- Stop repeating: set Repeat back to No repeat. The days you already ticked stay ticked.
- Delete: deleting a repeating task deletes the whole series.
Not available yet
Section titled “Not available yet”Repeats are daily, weekly or monthly, always every 1 day, week or month. There’s no “every 2 weeks”, no specific weekdays, no yearly repeat and no end date.
