Your first day

Set Plannedo up in five minutes — one goal, the few tasks that are live this week, and your first evening check-in.

You don’t need to move your whole life into Plannedo to see how it works. One goal and a handful of tasks are enough, and by tonight you’ll know whether you moved it.

  1. Create an account. On the web at plannedo.com, or in the iPhone or Mac app. See Create an account and sign in.

  2. Take the 30-second tour. It opens on Today the first time. Your day starts with three sample tasks and a sample habit, Drink a glass of water, so the screen isn’t empty — edit them, tick them or delete them.

  3. Make one goal. Open Goals, click + and give it a title. Write one line in Why it matters and, if there is one, pick a Deadline — a month or a quarter is fine. Click OK. See Goal boards.

  4. Make the board look like the goal. Add two or three photos with Add image and a few words with Add text. Circle what matters with Add shape, point at it with Add arrow. It doesn’t have to be pretty; it has to pull.

  5. Add the tasks that are live this week. Not everything — the three to five things you’ll actually do. Open each one, click + (Show more fields) and choose your goal under Goal. See Connect tasks and habits to a goal.

  6. Add a habit, if one serves the goal. Habits → +, a title, the goal, and a schedule — Daily, Weekdays, Weekends or your own days. See Habits.

  7. Tonight, close the day. On Today, open Log the day, write a line about how it went, then tap the goal and choose Moved, Thought or Not today. If you ticked off a linked task, it already says Moved. See The evening check-in.

  8. In a week, look under the board. The line under each goal says when you last moved it; tap it to see the last four weeks. See See which goals are moving.

  • Keep the day short. Plannedo shows all of today on one sheet. If it doesn’t fit in one scroll, it won’t fit in one day either.
  • Switch off what you don’t use. The sliders button on Today turns off overdue tasks, habits, the journal or the goals. See The Today page.
  • Get the app on your phone. The widgets show today on your Home Screen and let you tick things off without opening the app.
  • Capture first, sort later. Anything you add without a date goes to the Inbox.

The Free plan includes one goal with a full board, three lists, three habits and unlimited tasks. When you want more goals, see Free and Pro.
