Reminders and the app badge

Plannedo has two kinds of reminders — one for a task, and two for the day as a whole — plus a badge that counts what’s left.

Before you start

Reminders are part of Pro. They arrive as notifications from the Plannedo app on iPhone and Mac, so the app needs to be installed and allowed to send notifications. There are no email or browser reminders.

The app asks for permission the first time you open it after signing in. If you said no, turn notifications on for Plannedo in your device’s notification settings.

Task reminders

1. Open the task and make sure it has both a date and a time.
2. Click + (Show more fields).
3. Under Reminder, choose At time, 5 min before, 15 min before, 1 hour before or 1 day before.
4. Save.

The notification shows the task’s title and Scheduled for 14:30; tapping it opens that day in Plannedo. A task has one reminder. For a repeating task, the reminder moves on to the next day after it fires.

Caution

A reminder only fires when the task has a time. If the time is empty, nothing is sent.

Completing or deleting a task cancels its reminder.

Daily reminders

Two optional nudges, set in Settings → Daily reminders:

Evening — write how it went	21:00	How did today go? — Close the day — check off what is done and write it down.

Turn each one on with its switch and change its time. Both open Today. The evening one is a good companion to the evening check-in.

All reminders follow the timezone in Settings → Region & format → Timezone.

The badge

The number next to Today in the sidebar — and on the app icon — shows what’s left for the day. Choose what it counts in Settings → Badge → Today:

Tasks only (default)	Today’s open tasks, including repeating ones
Tasks, habits & journal	The same, plus habits not yet ticked today and Log the day if it isn’t filled in

Overdue tasks, Inbox items and subtasks aren’t counted. In the same section, App icon badge turns the number on the iPhone app icon or the Mac Dock icon on and off, and Inbox shows or hides the Inbox count in the sidebar.

On iPhone the badge needs notification permission and updates when you use Plannedo. On Mac it’s shown while the app is running.

If Pro ends

Task and daily reminders stop. The badge and everything else keep working.
